The Ballyhoo was a grateful beast. It had seen many, and many had been upon the sea also, but none of them quite knew why not. He took a sharp turn left, but he knew it wasn't sharp enough. They were coming for him, and he could almost hear them running at him, without the need to slow down for breath or aching legs.
